Every June 5 we celebrate the World Environment Day established by the United Nations General Assembly on December 15, 1972. The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) was also created on that day.

The World Environment Day is a celebration which the world’s population identifies with environmental issues. It intensifies awareness and political action with the main objectives of framing it within a human context in order to encourage people to become active agents for sustainable and equalitarian development.

Efforts to protect the environment are vital to ensure the quality of life for the world’s population. Engineering may collaborate through the development of techniques that allow saving resources effectively for the design and construction of civil works, industrial production, maintenance, and the provision of electricity.

Through its member organizations, UPADI wishes to promote ample participation and cooperation in activities that foster communities’ care of the environment and sustainable management of natural resources, as well as their adoption of good engineering practices. UPADI Executive Committee
