Dear friends,

2009 has been a year of celebration for UPADI. On July 20th, 1949, fifteen organizations, plus an observer, signed the l incorporation charter of UPADI at the city of Rio de Janeiro. In 1951, at La Habana, under the frame of the first UPADI Convention, the organizations from seven more countries joined in. For the celebration of our sixtieth anniversary, the objectives of our organization are of greater importance than ever, since we represent the interests of Pan American Engineers in a globalized world in which professional mobility is an everyday matter.

2009 was also a year of crisis, which affected all our countries, especially in the construction sector, important part for most of the organizations. However, it was also a year of opportunities and favorable changes: we were able to optimize processes and, as professionals show our organizations our capacity to change and renovate. To all our members, who have collaborated throughout this year with UPADI, the greatness of this Union is within you, thank you! We hope to keep receiving your collaboration in 2010, and go on cooperating and carrying out activities in benefit of Pan American Engineering.
